TD Monthly Magazine's Innovative Toy Award 2009

SHAILIE™ Wins Prestigious 2009 TDmonthly Innovations Award
New fashion toy revolutionizes dress-ups—let’s girls design, create, & wear own fashions

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, February 15, 2009 – Style Paige™, LLC has won the 2009 TDmonthly™ Magazine’s Innovations Award. The announcement comes as Style Paige promotes the nationwide launch of Shailie™ (shay-lee), a fashion design toy primarily for girls ages 5-13, at the Toy Industry Association’s Toy Fair 2009, February 15-18, 2009 in New York City.

“To win an award for innovation is particularly exciting,” said Kari Kawa, founder of Style Paige. “Shailie™ really is something different in the toy market for girls. Unlimited creativity and fun is what Shailie™ is all about. We’re honored that TDmonthly would recognize us with this award.”

Shailie™ (patent pending) is a fashion designer system that includes a life-size dress form and an extensive selection of mix-and-match dress-up clothes pieces and accessories. Sleeves, skirts, tops, and a myriad of trims and accessories come in various styles, colors, lengths, and fashion themes. All pieces easily attach and detach with Velcro®-like fasteners—letting girls design, create, and then wear and model their own unlimited dress-up fashions.
“Out of more than 100 submissions for the Toy Fair 2009 edition of TDmonthly Magazine's Specialty Toys Report, "Positive Toys for a Promising Future,"™ only 29 products were selected for inclusion in the Report. Eight of those 29 received TDmonthly awards, and Style Paige was the sole product to receive a TDmonthly Innovations 2009 award,” said Julie L. Jones, Assistant Editor of TDmonthly Magazine.
According to TDmonthly, products nominated for award were evaluated on several criteria including play value, safety, price point vs. quality, factors of social or environmental awareness, favorable review from retailers, consumers, experts or TDmonthly staff, and presence in or availability to the specialty market. Nominees were by invitation only. No nominees or winners paid a submission fee to be considered and the number of award winners was strictly limited.
